Well at the begining of last week I didn't know if any of us were going to be celebrating Emily's birthday. Alex had just gotten over being sick for 5 days on Sunday and Aaron, Emily and I came down with it on Monday. We all had different degrees of the illness at different times but poor Emily was still throwing up and feverish on Thursday night with her birthday coming on Friday. We woke up on Friday and she seemed to be doing well at first but as the day loomed on she seemed to get worse. We cancelled her birthday dinner hoping that she would be able to attend her birthday party on Saturday, which was also going to be a surprise 50th birthday party for my mom. Anyway, we all pulled ourselves out of bed tired from being sick and busy all week. Cleaned and disinfected the house and managed to pull of the party. Emily was feeling better, my mom was surprised and we even got to see my cousin's new baby Kai. (My mom made Emily the awesome Dora cake and my sister made the food.) This week has been better but of course Emily woke up with a runny noise on Monday morning. You never can win. :)

Glad you were able to do a party anyway... we kind of glazed over Nathan's birthday this year because of the move. Thanks for offering to watch the kids earlier this week - it's just as well you didn't though because we all came down with the flu that day as well. Uck! Feeling better today though which is good because I need to wrap gifts! Got your card - thanks! Got one from your parents too though they had our old address. We'll see you at New Years - here's hoping we're all healthy! Love to you all and Merry Christmas...
